It’s the last week in London and I’m down with the flu. However, yesterday we attended a Christmas Sunday roast and the hostess had decorated the entire table in silver and white. It made me think about how white can do wonders to Christmas decoration. It makes it all crisp and light.
I like the combination white with has with green and items from the nature. It’s a lovely balance I really enjoy. It’s like the forest in it’s winter coat has been welcomed into our house. Here are some of the ideas I really like that plays with white at Christmas.
From Ayay Decorations
I love the idea of a large garland in the staircase with fairy lights. In this picture the garland really make an impact to the room since the room is painted in creams and whites. To make the colour of the room blend with the decorations, white/cream candles in the staircase and around the end of the garland has been added. I would recommend to have electric candles if you are not in the room at all time. I also really like that the garland is so long that it swings to the grown. It makes the garland look more natural.

Another way to decorate with white and green to Christmas, is with the table. I really like the Christmas tree decor in the wreath over the table and that it’s replicated in the decor on the table and on the chairs. It gives balance and unite the decor over the table with the actual table.
From The Glitter Guide
Another mix with white and green and bringing the nature in, is a natural garland on the mantlepiece. If you want to bring real greenery in, use 3 blocks of oasis. It’s also nice to add some of the greenery over on the wall to lift your view of the decoration.

I love the idea of bringing treats to a table decoration. The picture over you have an example of a bohemian Christmas table idea with adding napkins, greenery, a sweet and a name tag.
From My Scandinavian Home
It’s not only the napkins that can be white. The entire table can be white. Above, you can see an example of this. As you can see, the room is decorated with different types of whites and light greys. This brings more depth to the table. With having plates in a bit darker shade that the table cloth will the plates appear a bit more clearer and “pop”.
I’ve also included a a picture from the table at the Christmas Sunday roast. As you can see, there is a play of white and silver and this makes the table look very crisp.
Have you ever decorated with white (and green) at Christmas?
