2022 Ikea Must Haves

2021 is coming to an end and it is not long to the calendar says 2022. It is crazy how fast this year has gone by, but also how much it has contained. I have enjoyed spending time of getting our house together and it’s so great to see the progress that has been done over the last 12 months. It has been many trips to IKEA in 2021 and I love going there every time. It’s like it’s my happy place. Our entire home is full of items from IKEA and I really believe that you can create an amazing home even though your furniture is not custom made for your home and you needed to build it yourself.

Spending so much time at IKEA has really been a lot of fun and I have with all the trips realized how many new items they actually launch every year. So for you to get inspired for 2022 and doing something with your home decor, here are my current favorites from IKEA.

White Hauga Sideboard

The Hauga sideboard is a brilliant item to add to a bedroom. It works really well on a wall with the same length as the sideboard since it has a tall frame that goes over the drawers. This feature ‘frames’ the space and makes the area stand more out. The sideboard is a great item to style your jewellery on.

Billy Bookshelf in Grey

The Billy bookshelf is one of the staple items from IKEA, but over the recent years has the collection evolved to contain other colors than wood and white. The new grey edition makes the bookshelf look sophisticated and works well in a minimalisitc and modern home. It’s perfect to store books since the glass doors prevents dust.

Gold Groeryd Bar Cart

Gold bar carts has really become popular over the last 5 years and now we can finally find them at IKEA as well. This is a staple item for every woman in their 20s or 30s living in a flat in a city that like happy hours at home. If happy hours are not your thing, you can make it into a coffee bar chart. You can find a lot of inspiration when it comes to bar cart styling on Pinterest, even styled for different seasons and holidays. You can have so much fun with this item.

White Liatorp Console Table

The Liatorp console Table is one of my all time favorite items from IKEA. It is a timeless piece and can work in any home. From minimalistic, Scandinavian to traditional style, this console table will work with all of the styles. It has a glass table top with a shelf under, this makes it a perfect furniture to showcase coffee table books.

White Bergmund Chair with Long Cover

The Bergmund chair is a furniture that IKEA has had for a long time, but I see it coming more and more back in style. The long white cover makes it sleek and tasteful, perfect for a home that is decorated in neutral colors. The cover can be changed and washed easily which makes the chair easy to also keep pretty in a busy home.

Skogsta Wooden Bench

The Skogsta Bench is a solid wood bench that works really well in a hallway or in a bedroom. This item is a staple in a Scandinavian style home, it brings in natural textures to the home. You can also get a matching table to the bench, also made out of solid wood. This

Rattan Insvep Basket

IKEA has a lot of amazing baskets made of natural fibers and this Insvep basket is a new addition that IKEA has added this year. This basket is perfect for laundry and other linens. You can also use it to store white towels in a bathroom or a sauna. An item that can really elevate a laundry room or a bathroom.

Insvep Seagrass Basket

Another Insvep basket from IKEA is a basket made out of sea-grass. This basket is perfect if you have a bit more of a cooler color palette in your room/home since the sea-grass lean more towards grey compared to most other baskets that have a warmer yellow.

Dofsing Handmade Basket

The new Dofset basket is a perfect picknick bag or to store magazines in. The basket is a great item to add in a home with boho style, but can also work in a more traditional home.

Insvep Water Hyacinth Basket

Another classic from IKEA is the water hyacinth basket. I really like the golden color the basket gives off and works really well in a home with warmer tones. Definitely makes a home more homely and cosy. Perhaps adding some logs in it would work well?

Pedersborg Off-White Rug

IKEA has really some good rugs that works for a Scandi styled home. I really like this flatwoven off-white rug with lines. It is a soft white that goes with most colors and styles. Definitely a good find if you are leaning toward a neutral color palette in your home.

Atersken Gold Table Lamp

In most cases, I struggle to find good lamps at IKEA, but this golden table lamp is a good find. It would definitely work in an modern home office. Just remember that ideally you want to have the same color metals in a room, so make sure that you check the metals already in the room before you start adding golden lamps.

Hedsaev Offwhite Cushion Cover

IKEA has a lot of cushion covers to choose from and it can sometimes be difficult to know which one to pick. This cotton off-white cushion cover with a texture tactile pattern is a great find for any type of home. The pattern on the cushion brings texture into the home and can help with elevating the look of the interior.

Atlissae Grey Cushion Cover

Another great cushion cover with texture is the Atlissae cushion cover. The cushion has a faux fur on the top cover and works really well in a cabin style home or log home. Definitely one pillow to have in front of a fireplace.

Froedis Beige Throw

Another item to have in from of a fireplace to snuggle up, is the Froedis throw. I have a similar one only in white that I bought many years ago. It’s the perfect item to create that hygge feeling in a home.

Saellskapelig Coupe Champagne Glass

I’ve always been a big fan of coupe champagne glass. I bought two of crystal in an antique shop in Amsterdam over 10 years ago that I still have today. At that time, you could only see them in old movies. But now, you can find them at IKEA which makes me really happy. Even tough these are not of crystal, they are very tasteful in their look. And sometimes it can be beneficial to have some cheap ones you are less worried about.

Dyrgrip White Wine Glass

I really like modem looking wine glass that are more square in it’s shape and now you can also this type of style at IKEA. I really like the simplicity of how they look, they would work in any home. From modern to traditional.

Stocksund Grey Bench

The Stocksund bench is one of my all time favorites from IKEA and one of the first IKEA items I purchased to our home. It comes in different fabrics that varies in price. My recommendation is to buy the more expensive fabric. It’s so worth the money.

Froesloev Beige Sofa

If you are looking for a classic sofa with a modern twist, then you should check out the Froesloev sofa from IKEA. It’s a great sofa for a formal living room facing each other. The sofa also comes in a darker grey.

Farlov White Sofa

Another classic option if the Farlov sofa, the sofa that I have in my home. The sofa comes in a 2 seater and a 3 seater and has a tasteful look. It’s a great sofa for a formal living room space and works well in a Scandi styled home.

Upplaga Dinner Plate

IKEA has a lot of great kitchenware, but sometimes does the items not age well. This Upplaga dinner plate however, will definitely age well. I love how it has classic features while having a clean look. It’s definitely a style that will never go out of trend. It’s also an entire tableware set to match the dinner plate.
